How does the app track my steps?

Edited

Our app is synchronized with your phone's "Motion & Fitness" feature to track your steps. To put it simply, it recognizes whether the device is stationary or moving. This means you need to have your phone with you while you’re walking for your steps to be recorded correctly.

To check whether the "Motion & Fitness" integration is enabled, please go to Settings on your phone > Privacy > Motion & Fitness > FitCoach.

However, you're also free to integrate FitCoach with the Health app. If you do this, our app will automatically pull the number of steps you take during the day from Apple's Health application. In this case, as long as you wear your Apple Watch, you won’t have to carry around your phone to keep track of your steps.

To enable Health integration, simply tap the "Sync with Health" button at the bottom of the screen, as shown in the screenshot below:

Then, allow access to your step activity:

To check whether FitCoach is synchronized with the Health app, please go to the Settings on your phone > Privacy > Health > FitCoach.
